In this session, we demonstrated how to use LiDAR data to design a functional drainage ditch and associated wetland features using practical, real-world workflows.
We walked through the process step by step, including how to:
● Create a terrain surface model from LiDAR data
● Design complex, non-linear features including:
- Wetland impoundment (catchment) areas
- Irregular shapes such as islands
● Define cross-sections for channel geometry
● Create horizontal & vertical alignments
● Calculate cut and fill balance within the catchment
● Assess the capacity of the designed catchment system
