Terrain Tools
®
- Surveying, Mapping and Terrain Modelling (1 day)
This course will be of interest to professionals involved in
surveying, terrain modeling, site design and earthwork calculations. Emphasis will be placed
on applying Terrain Tools to solve a variety of surveying
and engineering problems. Topics include, survey data import,
map production, georeferencing, drafting, terrain modeling, contouring,
profiles, grading (site plans, pads, pits etc.), visualization, earthworks,
and creation of plan/profile sheets.

Web Based Training
Web based training is a live on-line presentation/training with visual display over the
Internet and voice narration using a telephone connection. Pre-packaged courses
are available (see below). It is possible for you to set up the web training in a
conferance area with a speaker phone to train a group of people.
Custom courses, using your own data, focused on solving your specific problem are available.
When the course is complete, we'll send you the data files so you can carry on working on the project.
Importing Data
(60 minutes)
This presentation will demonstrate how to import from a variety of sources including
GIS, GPS, USGS, TRIM, data collectors and total stations.

Terrain Modeling
(60 minutes)
This presentation will demonstrate creating a TIN model.
Breaklines, 2D/3D points, triangle control, contouring, 3D displays and volumes.

Terrain Profiles
(60 minutes)
This presentation will demonstrate how to work with profiles in the
Terrain module. Topics include draping features, projected and intersected features,
drafting in the profile window.

Location Multi-Plot Sheet
(60 minutes)
This presentation will demonstrate how to create Plan/Profile sheets
including multiple pages.
Cost: $100 (USD).
Location Design Techniques I
(60 minutes)
This presentation will demonstrate reporting points,
horizontal and vertical alignments and curve design.
Cost: $100 (USD).
Location Design Techniques II
(60 minutes)
This presentation will demonstrate templates, culverts, and balancing using mass haul.
