Plan, Profile, Section and Data Windows

Profile Window with Mass Haul

Section Windows

Horizontal Alignment

Multi-plot Output Sheet
|
Overview
Operating as a standalone program in Microsoft Windows, RoadEng Civil
Engineer allows you to interactively design a road. Vertical and horizontal
alignments can be created and adjusted quickly.
Five window types, Plan, Profile, Cross Section, Data and Multi-Plot
(used for creating output sheets) are provided.
By exploiting the power of Microsoft Windows, RoadEng allows
the user to examine changes from different window types simultaneously.
Changes made in one window are instantaneously reflected in adjoining
windows. For example, an adjustment made to the alignment in the cross
section window will immediately alter the mass haul graph, and the slope
stake projections displayed in the profile, and plan windows.
Topography
Topographic information can be entered either
directly from cross sections or extracted from a digital terrain model.
Templates
The template editor allows you to assemble typical sections. Highly
flexible and easy to use, urban and rural templates can be quickly
defined to account for ditches, pavement, sub-base materials,
varying lane widths, cut slopes,
variable height fill slopes, curbs, sidewalks etc.
Location templates are "intelligent" and can be configured to
automatically reflect alignment, super-elevation and topographic
conditions. The result is less time spent creating and assigning
templates.
Vertical and Horizontal Alignments
Creating a vertical or horizontal alignment is quick
and easy. Working with the mouse in plan,
profile or section, you simply point and
click. Immediate feedback is provided, allowing you
to monitor slope stake positions, grades and volumes as you design.
Horizontal curves including radius, super-elevation and transitions can be
quickly entered.
Similarly, vertical curves can be designed
in profile by selecting PI points with the
mouse and entering the 'k' value.
Culvert Editor
The culvert editor allows you to interactively position culverts account
for size, length, skew and gradient. Culvert reports are available.
Mass Haul
The mass haul window located below the profile allows you to quickly
balance a road. Change the alignment and the mass haul updates
instantaneously.
Reporting Quantities
A configurable data reporting window is provided,
allowing the user to display, print or output design
information to a spread sheet. More than 100 items
are available to choose from; including volumes,
staking positions, cross sectional areas and mass
haul.
Output
Profiles, plans and cross sections can be output to
any Microsoft Windows supported printer or
plotter in single page or multiple page formats. Facilities
to export drawings to CAD via DWG and DXF are also
provided.
Plan/Profile Output sheets can be customized to meet required drawing standards. Legends, north arrows, title-blocks, images, curve tables
can be included.
