Coordinates
Terrain Tools works with Cartesian coordinates such as UTM
or State Plane. Coordinates can be entered directly from the
keyboard, with the mouse, from a digitizer, or imported from
external files.
The Modify Current Points Dialog allows
coordinates to be entered in either xyz format, survey format (bearing, distance and
slope) or lat/lon.
Import from Files
Coordinate data can also be imported
from external files in ASCII format. The format is user configurable. This
flexibility accommodates a wide variety
of file formats.
Feature codes can be recognized in the ASCII file and properties
including symbols, linetypes and hatching can be automatically assigned to point or linear features.
Download From GPS
Waypoint coordinates can be downloaded from a GPS device using a
serial connection.
Export
Coordinates can be exported in ASCII format. The format of
the export file is configurable and attributes such as length or area can be
included.
