Welcome | Welcome to the Softree mailing list! If you would like to be
removed from the list, reply to this email with the word
REMOVE in the subject line. The last few months have been very busy at Softree. In addition to the usual software development and support we have successfully completed 13 training sessions and attended 4 conferences in Western Canada and the US. Everywhere we go, we are encouraged by the positive feedback we're getting about the Softree/98 products. Please keep your comments and suggestions (including criticism) coming. Email us or post a message in the User Forum at our web site.
Free Maintenance Version 3.038 | Maintenance Version 3.040 is now available from the
Support/Download area of our web site (
http://www.softree.com/support/down1.htm ). This new
version contains many new features, bugs fixes and speed
improvements. See READ3040.TXT for a complete
summary of enhancements and corrections. We strongly recommend you take the time to download this version (please contact Wendy at 604-519-6222 Ext. 1 if you have trouble downloading from the Internet).
USDA Forest Service Purchases RoadEng | In late May, Softree completed the sale of 19 new RoadEng
licenses to the USDA Forest Service Regions 1 (Northern)
and Region 4 (Intermountain). This brings the total number of
systems in use by the USDA to over 200. We are obviously
very pleased to be doing business with the USDA and
believe the software has benefited from enhancements
requested by the Forest Service.
Training | Jack Rimac has put considerable effort into developing new
training materials for RoadEng/98 and Terrain Tools/98. This
winter Jack and Dave Mills both taught courses in Nanaimo,
Roseburg, Campbell River, Port Alberni, Vancouver,
Corvallis, Salmon Arm, McKenzie, Missoula, Trail, Hope
and Massett. For more information about training please
contact Wendy Hellofs (whellofs@softree.com or phone

Sandhill Site Plan | The following site plan example was provided to us by Silvatech Consulting Ltd. of Salmon Arm B.C. with the permission of their clients. The final drawing was produced with Terrain Tools. We found this example particularly interesting because it used several innovative techniques which we had never thought of (we're constantly learning from our customers). Click on the link below for brief description.
Road Maintenance Software | We are trying to determine the level of interest for Road
Maintenance software. Such a system would keep track of
the location, condition, date of last inspection, cost and
contractor of the various components of your transportation
network such as road segments, culverts, surfacing, bridges,
and ditches. We are trying to establish which features you
would find useful, preferred platform e.g. ArcView® ,
MapInfo® or standalone. We are also interested if any
companies have existing software and any experiences they
have had. Any comments would be greatly appreciated
(send us an email or even better post a message in the User
Forum on our web site). | |
