System Requirements

The following PDA platforms are supported:
( see Programs | Settings | System tab | About | Version for the OS version)

- Windows Mobile 5.0 / Windows Mobile 2003 / Pocket PC 2003 / Pocket PC 2002

- Juniper Allegro CX 
- Trimble GeoExplorer CE.NET Series  (GeoXT, etc.)
- TDS Ranger CE.NET

- Juniper Allegro CE 3.0
- TDS Recon WinCE 3.0 (older model Recon's only)

Installation

The following steps are required to install Terrain Tools CE:

1) Download the excutable file (eg "TerrainToolsCE-WindowsMobile.exe") into a temporary directory 
on your desktop computer system.

2) Connect your Handheld Device to the Desktop (Active Sync Connection).

3) Double click on the downloaded file from step 1.  This will install the program using ActiveSync.

The install should take only a few seconds to complete. 
 

	A new folder \Program Files\Softree\Terrain Tools CE is created containing files
	TToolsCE.exe, Normal.slt.

	Another new folder \My Documents\SOftree is also created containing SoftreePW.ini
	and various sample files.

	A shortcut titled TToolsCE will appear on the Start menu under Programs.  
	TR1 files are associated with TToolsCE.exe, so they display 
	the Survey icon and when double-clicked will open into the Terrain Tools CE.		  

4) The first time the program is started, the machine ID is written to the SoftreePW.ini 
file and the program executes in demo mode.  A message appears on the screen 
describing the registration process:

		Terrain Tools CE has not been registered. Please forward your Name and 
		Company Name along with C:\My Documents\Softree\SoftreePW.ini 
		to register@softree.com.

5) Softree will return the SoftreePW.ini file with your password. Upon receiving this file, overwrite 
it back into the C:\My Documents\Softree folder.  To have the password accepted, the program must
be completely closed using menu File->Exit and then restarted.
