HARDWARE PROTECTION KEY AND PASSWORD

If you are upgrading from version 4.0, Version 4.1

requires a new key or password.

COMPATIBILITY WITH PREVIOUS VERSIONS

Version 4.1 is file compatible with version 4.0. Although version 4.0 will read 4.1 files new 4.1 data (such as template enhancements) will not be visible in version 4.0 and will be lost if the file is saved from version 4.0.

There is no need to uninstall 4.0 before installing 4.1. If you choose to uninstall a previous version, you may want to first back up your defaults and layouts (files in the RoadEng folder).

Version 4.x has a conversion utility that allows it to read version 3.xxx files. Once files have been converted, they can no longer be read by 3.xxx software. There is no "Save As previous version" function, although ASCII and DXF formats can be used for this purpose to some extent.

If you are upgrading from version 3.1, it is not necessary to remove an installation of version 3.1 that you are still using. Version 4.0 can be installed side by side with Softree's

3.1 products provided it is installed in a different folder. Note, however, that version 3.1 is no longer supported by Softree.

BUG FIXES SINCE THE 4.1 RELEASE

The version number below is the last version of the software that exhibited the problem.
