This option allows you to determine if a digitizer is communicating with the Terrain module. It is accessed from the Digitizer Configuration Dialog.
The Digitizer Test Dialog shows the communications settings and all transmitted information from the digitizer. After a key is pressed on the digitizer a series of characters should appear in the test dialog box representing the packet transmitted. If the digitizer has been set up properly the X, Y and KEY fields will be displayed at the bottom of the dialog box.
Information from the digitizer is transmitted in packets. Typical packets are shown in the figure below. The Test dialog displays the "raw" information transmitted from the digitizer. It also shows how packets are split apart into x,y,key fields.
